Being able to establish a visual identity for the brand to follow across into the marketing promotional platforms triggered my research into the style collective ‘Buffalo’. Buffalo encapsulates a narrative based attitude and way of living; rebellious and fearless self-expression. This is an attitude I was inspired to incorporate into my brand and marketing campaign. The ‘Buffalo’ movement was also British which linked back to my brand values of local homegrown entrepreneurial spirit. The ‘Buffalo’ inspired research let me to look at stylist Ray Petri’s work from the 80’s. I have also researched, more recently, fashion brand Dr. Martens and stylist Harris Elliot, created a campaign collaboration to celebrate the Buffalo movement .
