Fashioned From Nature

The exhibition presented fashionable dress and accessories alongside natural history specimens. This helped me to consider how I would be able to incorporate the sustainability aspect into my brand and marketing plan.

Fine English Wool – This image was taken my myself when looking around the exhibition space. I liked the idea of celebrating / using wool within my brand / marketing plan as wool is a European Specially and a mainstream of Britain’s economy (Local suitable production). So local in fact, the wool is best from my hometown of Leicestershire were the sheep were reared for their excellent long wool.

Murderous Millinery – At this stage of the research project I had started to consider creating a  HAT (Fedora) brand. The ‘Fashion From Nature’ exhibition helped me to understand the fundamental need to create and manufacture hats in a more sustainable way that protects the nature and wildlife used to create them.

The main primary goal of my hat brand will be the focus towards sustainability throughout all areas of the business. This sustainability primarily comes from the protection of the animal material used to make the hats, by the brand supporting charities such as RSPB this highlight a charity that mirrors the hat companies believes and mission.
