Year of Drawing Symposium 12th Sept 10-4.30 Falmer

The Year of Drawing project is holding a Symposium on Wednesday 12th September from 10-4.30 at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, Falmer – see poster attached.

This will consider a range of drawing practices and the way in which they can help us connect, communicate and enhance creativity. The learning from a Year of Drawing, a site-specific mental health drawing project, will be presented alongside insights from other initiatives in the field of drawing and health research and practice. Combining reflection and action, this symposium sets out to inform practice directly.

The Year of Drawing is a project run by Make Your Mark, the arts/health initiative in the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. It increases access to the arts for people facing mental health challenges, through participatory drawing events and exhibitions. For more information about the Year of Drawing project, see https://www.makeyourmarknhs.co.uk
