Welcome to the 3D Service Suite, of the Centre for Secure, Intelligent and Usable Systems at the University of Brighton.

We research and offer services in imaging and 3D digitisation for various applications including cultural heritage, arts, design, education and entertainment.

Our facilities include a digitisation laboratory which is used for teaching, research and consultancy purposes. The equipment available includes a 3D scanner, a portable hand-held scanner, a Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI) acquisition dome, and digital photographic equipment. This equipment is available for creating digital images and 3D models of a variety of objects and environments, such as artworks, architecture, design prototypes, engineering parts and body parts. The laboratory also features high-end computers to post-process the data as well as a Virtual Reality headset to provide additional user interfaces to interact with the 3D content. We also provide access to 3D printers, including fused deposition modelling (FDM) printers and desktop stereolithography (SLA) for the accurate reproduction of 3D models.
