We have listened to the feedback you have given us and these are the changes we have made:
- SASS-wide modules would benefit from having a greater “Politics focus” [Actioned: SS528 Critical Analysis module will be replaced by SS561 Political Analysis module from 2019-20; and on SASS-wide modules SS430, SS414 and SS530 the Politics students are grouped into separate seminar groups led by a member of the Politics team, and, where appropriate, with specific Politics-focused readings]
- More international politics content before Level 6 [Actioned: new module introduced at Level 4 SS450 Foundations in World Politics; in addition SS440 Comparative European Political Systems has been revised to Comparative Political Systems to allow case studies from outside Europe, depending on staff specialism]
- SS446 Nations and Nationalism is very challenging as a Level 4 module [Actioned: Level 4 module SS446 withdrawn and SS560 Nations and Nationalism introduced at Level 5]
- More guidance on summative assessments [Actioned: formative tasks and structured feedback on these tasks formalised on all modules]
- More specific Politics resources available [Ongoing action: Politics team will continue to work closely with colleagues in Information Services to ensure we further develop resources]
