The Winter Mini Challenge has begun!

The Reading Agency’s Winter Mini Challenge starts today and runs until Friday 13th January 2020.

So what’s involved?

Children are encouraged to visit their local library and sign up to participate in the challenge.

Cover of PugsThey must read 3 books of their choice over the winter holidays and write short book reviews. The theme of this year’s challenge is “Pugs of the Frozen North”, which is inspired by the popular book by Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre.

There are a variety of activities relating to the theme that children can do, including design their own perfect pet pug, which they can enter into a competition to win some books by Reeve & McIntyre.

This is a great way to motivate children to read. And Philip Reeve recently revealed that there is a stage play of “Pugs of the Frozen North” on the way, which will start touring next year.

Good luck to everyone who is taking part!
