Red House Children’s Book Awards shortlist 2015

The Red House Children’s Book Award has 3 categories – younger children, younger readers and older readers. The award is voted for entirely by children so encourage your students to take part and vote for their favourite from the 10 shortlisted books. The winners will be announced 21st February 2015. The shortlisted books are:

The Day The Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt & Oliver Jeffers (HarperCollins Children’ Books)
Go to Sleep or I Let Loose the Leopard by Steve Cole and Bruce Ingman (Jonathan Cape)
That is NOT a Good Idea by Mo Willems (Walker Books)

Younger Readers

Baby Aliens Got My Teacher! by Pamela Butchart (Nosy Crow)
The Bomber Dog by Megan Rix (Puffin Books)
Demon Dentist by David Walliams (HarperCollins Children’ Books)

Older Readers

Noble Conflict by Malorie Blackman (Doubleday)
Prince of the Icemark by Stuart Hill (Chicken House)
Split Second by Sophie McKenzie (Simon & Schuster Children’s Books)

    Of course oliver Jeffers would make any shortlist. We love the Day the Crayons Quit!!!

      I agree – it’s already a classic! Debi Gliori’s book Dragon Loves Penguin is also a lovely read.
