Getting snippy with the CMS

Are you adding the same information onto more than one page? Contact details, locations, that really cute gif of fainting goats?

Or have you just copied information from one page in the CMS purely to paste it on another page in the CMS?

Sounds like you should be using snippets. Create the content once and make it appear where ever you decide. If something changes, you only need to update one file (the snippet file), send it for publishing, and it changes everywhere you’ve used it.

You can’t use them in the middle of a sentence, that would be craaaaaazy, but they certainly can save you lots of time and effort.

Most people have access to snippets, you can find them in the chilled cabinets because they’re so cool – also available in the _design/html-snippets folder.

Get in touch with the webteam (webteam@brighton.ac.uk) if you want to use them and yet the computer (CMS) says No.
