Short URLs and Personalisation

Obviously you’re all CMS experts now, but just in case you weren’t aware – here’s a couple of tips.

Keep your file names short as they form part of a page’s URL. The main reasons being that the longer a URL, the less each individual word is weighted by the search engine; some social media services experience problems with long URLs; and lots of words or repetition in your URL can look like keyword stuffing or spam and actually hurt search rankings.

Remove Personalisation before sharing a preview link with someone. If you don’t it can prevent the links on a page from working.
