From Ideas to Action: Students Prepare for the Santander University of Brighton Ideas Competition Final

Each year, our EnterprPhoto credit: Pictures Of Moneyise Team hosts the Santander University of Brighton Ideas Competition to celebrate and reward the most entrepreneurial ideas generated by our students and alumni.

With cash prizes sponsored by Santander Universities, as well as in-kind support generously donated by companies from the local business community, this annual competition attracts a number of ideas from a diverse range of disciplines.

This year, the Enterprise Team received 40 entries which have now been shortlisted down to six. Having received some specialist training from the Enterprise Team, the six finalists are now busily preparing their pitches for the Idea Competition Final which takes place on the evening of Thursday, 9 May 2019.

The Idea Competition Final always proves to be an exciting event during which our aspiring entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to a panel of judges, with the hope of winning a number of prizes made available to the top three winners. The Enterprise Team is grateful for the generosity of the following sponsors for this year’s competition:

Santander Universities who are offering £1500, £1000 and £750 for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners

The Good Business Club who are offering specialist entrepreneurial advice sessions

Atkinsons Chartered Accountants who are offering tailored accountancy advice

MDHUB who are donating one year’s membership to their peer-to-peer business growth network

Inngot who are providing a free Appraise Intellectual Property Action Plan

Mayo Wynne Baxter who are offering tailored legal advice to the top two winners

The Projects whose co-working members are kindly offering 6 months mentoring from Simon Turner of Oasthouse Ventures, 6 months mentoring from Ben Hammond of Grizzly Bear, and a 3-hour brainstorming lunch at The Ivy from Hela Wozniak of Sister Snog
