Free Graduate Skills Masterclasses – plus the chance to land yourself a job!

Are you looking for a graduate job? Perhaps you have already graduated, and want to develop yourself professionally.

A recent survey of employers (ISE 2018)  found that in the UK, the biggest skill shortfalls relate to commercial awareness, negotiating and resilience.

The Careers Service is offering a series of three free Graduate Skills Masterclasses, to help you increase your impact and give you an edge in the competitive job market.  A certificate of attendance will be provided for each masterclass.

We’re also working with small to medium enterprises offering job opportunities for graduates from the summer of 2019. Attending these sessions will allow you to hear about employers offering jobs.

Here’s some more details on the Graduate Skills Masterclasses: 

Masterclass 1: Commercial awareness and entrepreneurship
Wednesday 13 March, 2-5pm
City campus (Room 105, 154 Edward Street, Brighton BN2 0JG)
With award-winning educator and entrepreneur Clare Griffiths of beepurple. Regardless of your career path, having commercial awareness and an entrepreneurial mindset can help you stand out from the crowd.

Masterclass 2: Communicating with confidence and networking
Wednesday 20 March, 2-5pm
Falmer campus  (Checkland Building D222, Falmer, Village Way BN1 9PH)
With communications coach and master trainer Adrienne Saunders. Be inspired, build your confidence and learn the techniques you need to kickstart your career and boost your personal power.

Masterclass 3: Self-management and putting yourself forward
Wednesday 27 March, 2-5pm
Moulsecoomb campus (Huxley Building Room 401, Moulsecoomb, Lewes Road, Brighton BN2 4GJ)
With careers coaches Ian Rossiter, Zoe Webb and Jo Bevan. Learn the essentials of how to nail your dream graduate job and ensure you’re not outperformed during the recruitment process.

You can book all or a selection of the masterclasses. Students travelling from other campuses will be reimbursed (public transport or mileage) – save any ticket receipts and give them to us.
