Interested in teaching in further education? Funded placements available.

Association of South East Colleges logoAOSEC (Association of South East Colleges) has received funding from the Education and Training Foundation to provide work experience opportunities for  final year undergraduates or recent graduates interested in pursuing a teaching career in Further Education.

The AOSEC have a number of colleges in Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Thames Valley who will provide 40 hours of work experience covering a range of activities to give an insight into what teaching in an FE college would be like.

The students will each receive £350 (£175 at the start and £175 at the end of the placement) to cover costs. If you are interested in being involved in this project, please get back to me so I can organise a telephone call to give you (or whoever) more information.

We are particularly looking for applications from students in the following subject areas, but is not a requirement:

·         English
·         Maths
·         Engineering
·         Computing
·         Accounting
·         Business
·         Construction
·         Science
·         Animal Care
·         Health and Social Care
·         IT

Please find the link to our project website page https://aosec.org.uk/more-pathways-to-further-education/

I applied and got offered a placement in a Kent college. I finish in January and I’d be happy to write something for a case study if you like?
