Did y’miss me?? After a protracted absence (the fruits of which will become apparent quite soon – and no, I’ve not had a baby) witness the sparkly return of Magic Careers News Round Up Bear. 8 June at 1.00pm: Alternative Career Pathways After Your PhD. Jobs.ac.uk is holding a free 60-minute live Q&A on their You Tube channel featuring a panel of experts who have moved outside of academia, to share their top tips and advice on alternative career pathways following PhD studies. 8 June: Summer Graduate Fair, London. Meet top employers, postgraduate and graduate course providers, employability advisers and recruiters. The fair takes place at ILEC Conference Centre, Ibis London Earls Court on 11am – 4pm. Take advantage of the free match and meet service which allows you to submit your job preferences when you register. You’ll then be matched to live vacancies and employers at the event. 10 June: Employment opportunities and open day for newly qualified nurses, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals. Just in case you’re interested in venturing beyond the South East (because there is such a place) after graduation. Download the event poster (pdf) for more info.

21 June: AuthentiCity is an event, supported by Stonewall, for LGBT undergraduates looking at career opportunities in the City. You’ll get to speak to representatives from six worldwide firms, who’ll be providing a valuable insight into their work and sharing their experiences of being LGBT in the workplace. 21 June: Brighton Jobs Fair, Waterfront Jury’s Inn. Local and national companies are looking to recruit across the region for full and part-time work, apprenticeships, graduate roles, volunteering and charity work. http://bit.ly/2rDMN6c

21 June: London Graduate Fair. 1000s of jobs, CV surgeries and free talks. Held at the University of London but open to Brighton students/grads. More info and register at http://bit.ly/2rjzF3p
