CEO for a day

Would you like to shadow the chief executive of a major company or even the permanent secretary of the Cabinet Office ?

CEOx1Day is designed to uncover some of the UK’s most promising future leaders and give them an opportunity to walk in the shoes of a senior executive. Undergraduates apply to spend a day with a top Chief Executive to learn about the responsibility and complexities required to lead some of Britain’s leading business and organisations.

At the same time, CEOs can better understand what drives the next generation of leaders. Participating companies and organisations in 2016 included BT, ITV, Standard Chartered, Deloitte, Legal & General, The Cabinet Office and the National Trust.

To be eligible you need to be an undergraduate student enrolled on the second, third or fourth year of a degree course in the UK.  Applicants need to complete a short application form, upload their CV and answer two questions:  What are your career goals?  What are the most important attributes of good leadership ? If you’re successful at the first stage an online assessment takes place over the Summer holidays and then an assessment day in Mid September.

Last year’s winners found it gave them a great insight into corporate life , you can read their stories here.

To apply and to find out more information head over to the website. You’ve got until 30th June to apply .
