Student Employee of the Year 2016

This year’s Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) awards were held on Tuesday 24 May. It was a fantastic occasion, with more than 60 people in attendance to honour the nominees and winners from across the University.

Event organiser Liz Vassilakes said, “What an inspiring night! It’s so wonderful to see student employees being recognised for their hard work.”

Students had been nominated by their employers – either inside or outside the University – in recognition of their outstanding contribution. These fell into three categories: Above & Beyond (for employees who go the extra mile in their work), Commercial Impact (for employees who help increase profits or grow a business) and Step Up To Leadership (for employees who demonstrate leadership skills or take on extra responsibility).

The winners in each category will go on for consideration in regional heats, with the possibility of moving up to the national contest later in the year.

The nomination window for next year’s SEOTY Awards will open in spring 2017. Watch this space for the announcement, and maybe one of next year’s winners could be you!
