A Call For Volunteers

Student Life has changed in recent years and being a student is now arguably tougher than it has ever been before. With so many more people studying for a degree course, more students and graduates are competing for entry level jobs. This, coupled with escalating university course fees, means that students are looking to get the most they can out of their time at university.

Volunteering alongside studying is now more important than ever in order to add ‘value’ to your CV. STEM Sussex has many volunteering opportunities throughout the year, but a key event is The Big Bang Fair South East (BBFSE).

BBFSE is set to take place at the South of England Showground on 29th June 2016, and it is the biggest single celebration of STEM for young people in the UK, and around 7,500 students and their teachers from across the region are expected to attend. For a flavour of what went on at the Big Bang South East 2015, please see this video:

If you would like to be a volunteer at this event or if you are interested in getting involved with STEM Sussex, please visit their website www.stemsussex.co.uk or send an email to stemsussex@brighton.ac.uk .
