How volunteering can help your CV

Did you know that volunteering in the local community is a great way to develop your employability skills for your CV?
Here at Active Student, we promote a wide range of volunteering opportunities so you can find something that you’re interested in that’s local to you.

There are lots of skills you can develop with volunteering:
TEAMWORK CONFLICT RESOLUTION SELF-CONFIDENCE EMPATHY CREATIVE THINKING PUBLIC SPEAKING PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT ASSERTIVENESS MULTI-TASKING ACTIVE LISTENING WORKING UNDER PRESSURE TEACHING SKILLS TIME MANAGEMENT ADAPTABILITY SELF-MOTIVATION PLANNING DECISION MAKING COMMITMENT…and the list goes on!

If you’re not sure about volunteering, Active Student are here to help. We hold lunchtime drop-in sessions on campuses and you can just come along to chat with us (we’re a friendly bunch!), no booking or sign-up needed.

Keep a look out on the events calendar for our regularly updated times of drop-ins. We’re also holding drop-ins on the first week of term (week of 4th Jan 2016) so come along and chat with us about how you can volunteer.

p.s. Don’t forget, if you’re staying near to your campus over the Winter holidays, you can volunteer locally. Take a look at our list of Xmas opportunities for more information.
