Get yourself ready for the Placements Fair, 19 November

The Placements Fair is taking place in Cockcroft Hall on Thursday 19 November from 12 – 3 pm. This event is a brilliant opportunity to get a head start in finding a work placement and is exclusive to University of Brighton students!

If you want a placement, this is a great place to start introducing yourself to relevant companies, find out more about what the placements entail and what it will take to succeed.

Here is a list of the companies that will be at the fair, and it also shows which ones will be accepting CVs on the day.

But how can you prepare for the placements fair? Here are our top tips:

  • Do your research as to which companies you wish to approach
  • Get a targeted CV ready. Consider all the experience paid or voluntary you have gained so far, including any involvement in extra-curricular activities. Identify the skills you have gained, and think about how to create an effective CV which will get you the placement you want. • You can also ask for help from the placements teams and the careers service
  • Be prepared with questions to learn more about the relevant companies and the placements they offer

 And yes, you can dress smart/casual if you wish

Good luck!
