Culture Shift – Arts Connect Volunteer
Arts Connect is a Culture Shift programme of activities designed to support adults with learning disabilities to engage in the arts and develop their talent and interests. The programme has been commissioned by East Sussex County Council’s Adult and Social Care team. You will work alongside a lead artist and our project coordinator, Julia Roberts and support participants on a 1-1 basis, or small group basis, with supervision and support from the two project leaders. This role is based across East Sussex incl. Lewes, Bexhill, Hastings, Crowborough and Eastbourne – mutually agreed travel expenses can be paid by the organisation (up to £15 per session). Deadline to apply is 30 October 2015.

Brighton and Hove Museums and Pavilion – Volunteer for Artist Moving Image Display
We are currently looking for reliable and conscientious volunteers to assist with a display of the artist Ben Rivers’ 16mm film Ah! Liberty (2008) at Brighton Museum & Art Gallery during Cinecity from 13 November to 29 November 2015. Between 10.00-17.00. Hours will be flexible. Deadline to apply is 2 November 2015. Applicants will be shortlisted for interview, taking place on 9 November 2015.

Brighton and Hove Museums and Pavilion – Collections Volunteer
We are currently looking for Collection Volunteers one day a week within the following Curatorial departments: • Fashion • Local History & Archaeology • Natural Sciences • Royal Pavilion archive • World Art. Time commitment is 1 day per week for 12 weeks initially. Deadline to apply is 4 November 2015. Applicants will be shortlisted for interview, taking place on 10 or 12 November 2015.

Brighton and Hove Museums and Pavilion – Fashion Exhibition Volunteer
We are seeking volunteers to support the work of the Royal Pavilion & Museums’ Curator of Fashion in the setting up of a major exhibition Fashion Cities Africa which opens in April 2016. The task will require basic hand and machine sewing skills and will involve using materials and fabrics to create on mannequins the correct body shapes for garment display. Time commitment is 1 day per week (preferably Wednesday) for 12 weeks initially. Deadline to apply is 7 November 2015. Applicants will be shortlisted for interview, taking place on 10 or 16 November 2015.

Brighton and Hove Museums and Pavilion – Volunteer for Royal Pavilion Father Christmas Event
Volunteers are needed for a special event at The Royal Pavilion. The Royal Pavilion Father Christmas runs daily from 12th – 22nd December 2015. There are a range of roles available: • Meet & greet • Costumed character • Understudy Elf • Costume assistant • Buggy park attendant • General runner • Santa’s Grotto attendant. For this particular opportunity, volunteers can offer a couple of hours of time, a whole day or more if they wish. Deadline to apply is 9 November 2015.

The Charleston Trust – Database Assistant Volunteer
Charleston is a thriving historic house museum in the Sussex countryside between Lewes and Eastbourne. It was the former home of artists Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell and the country retreat of the Bloomsbury group. The objective of the role is to support the Communications and Marketing Manager with the work of the Trust by updating the database with details of previous Charleston’s Festival ticket buyers to enable the trust to have a wide impact for its marketing campaigns. Time commitment is up to 8 hours per week, potentially less – to be mutually agreed between the successful applicant and The Trust. Deadline to apply is 10 November 2015.

The Charleston Trust – Capital Appeal Researcher Volunteer
The objective of the role is to support the Capital Appeal Manager with the work of the Trust by assisting with essential fundraising research to enable us to reach our fundraising target. Time commitment is up to 8 hours per week, potentially less – to be mutually agreed between the successful applicant and The Trust. Deadline to apply is 10 November 2015.

Care Co-ops – Life Opportunities Volunteer
Care Co-operatives is a social enterprise passionate about improving the lives of local people and reducing social exclusion. Life Opportunities day services supports adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues to develop their abilities and gain new skills. Groups include, cookery, art, computers, everyday living skills, gardening, sewing, photography and working at the allotments on the community farm at Stanmer Park. Minimum time commitment is 26 weeks as a minimum: 2 hours per day, either 10.30am–12.30pm or 2-4pm.

Gladrags Community Costume Resource – Costume Store Assistant Volunteer
Gladrags is a charity run mainly by volunteers. We are a unique and creative resource providing costumes (6000 of them!) to schools and colleges, community/youth groups, amateur & fringe arts. We resource their community, arts, educational and wellbeing projects, supporting and enriching their work. Costume Store Assistants assist with costume hire, making, care and the store’s inventory. Minimum time commitment is four to six hours weekly or every other week, for three months at least.
