The Personal Trip project was all about taking a journey out to a location that links in to our Place project. The idea was to think outside the box, be creative with the way we decided to record it and prepare a short presentation for the group.
My work is primarily inspired by the natural world in which I live: the land, trees, organic forms created by the earth. Living on a farm and being surrounded by the natural world is a bit like being a kid in a sweet shop. So in thinking outside my usual earthy box, I decided to look at the geometric man-made farm yard that sits in the rolling hills. I decided to get up close and look at it in great detail. The result is a collection of photographs that show fascinating textures and colour tones, a lot of springs and pieces of machinery, and a few sweet lambs.
