Did you know you can get a certificate for volunteering?

From the Careers Service blog:

If you volunteer for more than 30 hours or complete a significant volunteering project by volunteering via the university’s volunteering service, Active Student, you can get a certificate. This is only for volunteering outside of your degree – extra-curricular volunteering – and not as part of a community engagement placement module within your degree.

If you are a University of Brighton student who would like to volunteer, then please get in touch. We have many amazing volunteering opportunities for all students at Brighton Uni, from arts projects to museum invigilation, teaching assistance to environment or community gardening roles, business planning projects and social media or social sciences/client-focussed roles working with future client groups, including older people, young people or those with disabilities. Most roles are for a handful of hours per week or a one-off activity. There is a lot of variety to choose from!

Active Student is open throughout the year, except for the Bank holiday dates.

If you are already a registered Active Student volunteer, and haven’t given your Volunteering Project Officer an update recently, please contact them directly via  volunteering@brighton.ac.uk
