Inspiring journeys to work

Brighton’s top in UK for entrepreneurship thanks to our MBAs!

The office broking service Instant Offices analysed data from Companies House for its survey and compared it against population estimates and business growth to determine which UK cities are the most entrepreneurial.

Placing Brighton and Hove first, it said: “Brighton has clinched top spot, with its strong creative industry. There’s definitely something in the air and the University of Brighton MBA program (sic) is an enticing proposition for those looking to start their own business in a more relaxed atmosphere then some of the other metropolitan hubs in the UK.”

Instant Offices said: “With its dynamic business environment, solid infrastructure, huge talent pool and vibrant startup culture, it’s no surprise an entrepreneurial spirit persists in the UK. By comparing the average population in each city with the number of businesses launched there in two years, we discovered which cities are leading the way.”

John Williams, Head of Marketing at Instant Offices says “I can understand the appeal of Brighton and the south coast of England. It is a bit of an antidote to the hustle and bustle of the capital while possessing a strong, creative industry and really appealing to business owners and workers seeking a more relaxed alternative to London.  We have seen record demand for office space in Brighton and also a large increase in the number of operators trying to set up space in the city to cater for its growing business community.”

A spokesperson for the university’s Brighton Business School said: “We’re pleased our professionally-accredited MBA programme has been credited in this way.

“Our programme is designed for experienced managers wishing to develop their potential through a truly international experience. It is an exceptional platform for rapid career progression and developing leadership skills. Managers will also graduate with the Chartered Management Institute’s Strategic Diploma in Management and Leadership, and will gain free membership to the Institute of Directors.

“We have been producing high-quality MBA graduates for over 25 years.”

You can meet our lecturers and find out more about what it’s like to study our Brighton MBA at our next open evening on Thursday 12 October. You can book your place here.
