Being flexible with a MSc in Finance

From experience, we know that students’ ambitions and interests evolve as they progress through their courses. Our one-year full-time Finance masters programmes innovatively offers you, not only the choice of optional modules but also, five final awards.

All of our Finance masters courses within our Finance programme share the same core modules giving you practical knowledge in key finance subjects, From term 2 you will be able to tailor your course through a choice of specialisms and optional modules. You will have the option to choose from final awards in Banking, Accounting, Investment, Economics and Risk Management.

The specialisms currently offered are:

  • Finance and Banking MSc. Designed for those with an interest in banking, this Masters will prepare you for a wide range of careers in finance, designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to help organisations understand complex financial issues and develop practical solutions.The course prepares you for a range of careers in central banks, finance departments of industrial and service companies, regulatory bodies, government agencies, financial consultancies and auditors.
  • Finance and Accounting MSc. This course prepares you for a range of careers in financial institutions, accountancy firms, consultancies, and finance departments in businesses or government. It has been designed to help you to specialise and meet the growing demand for finance professionals with strong research skills.
  • Finance and Investment MSc. This course will equip you with a thorough grounding in the theoretical and practical aspects of economics, finance and investment. By the end of the course, you will have the skills necessary to use advanced tools and quantitative techniques to appraise financial opportunities. As part of this course you will also have access to our real-time trading room, streaming up-to-the-minute data from Reuters.
  • European Parliament

    European Parliament

    Economics and Finance MSc. Giving you the analytical capabilities necessary to deal with complex problems, this course opens up a wide range of career paths. Many graduates find employment in the financial sector but the course is an excellent preparation for a career in economic consultancy, the public sector or international development institutions.

  • Finance and Risk Management MSc. Since the banking crisis, risk managers have been increasingly sought after. This Masters will develop your knowledge of risk management theory at a company, country and international level, investigating contemporary debates and controversies in risk management. Graduates from this course have gone onto roles in financial institutions, regulatory bodies, government agencies and risk management divisions in large non-financial companies.
