The Retail Consultancy module takes place in the summer term. Working as consultants, students get together with local retailers willing to spend time discussing their business growth plans.
Students may be asked to solve a particular retail problem or exploit an opportunity. In partnership with the company’s management they produce an analysis of the business and outline recommendations for the future in a report which is presented to the company.
Students have worked with a wide range of companies, including:
- FAIR fair-trade fashion boutique
- Ruby Moon swimwear designer
- Anna Pugh who designs and makes leather handbags
- Wolf and Gypsy a vintage fashion shop in Brighton.
The Retail Consultancy module is the perfect way of applying your learning to the real world. It provides an opportunity to improve your confidence, learn new skills and gain experience to help you get ahead in the job market.
